The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Physician, OD (On-Call Doctor) in Admissions at Georgia Regional Hospital At Savannah (please visit www.garegionalsavannah.com for more information).
NOTE: This is a part-time position that averages 29 work hours a week.
Provide assessments to new patients at Admissions Office and provide emergent assessment and treatment to inpatients during off-hours. Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards: 1. Reviews new referrals from referral sources, such as Emergency Departments. 3. Conducts doctor-to-doctor conversation to decide if the patient meets admitting criteria. 4. Provides initial assessments to new patients 5. Develops initial treatment plans for patients being admitted. 6. Provides emergency medical care to inpatient when needed 8. Refers patients to outpatient services if they are not admitted.

Graduation from a medical school recognized by the composite state board of medical examiners Licensure or license eligible to practice medicine at a state institution or in the state of Georgia as provided by state law is required
