Health Aide (WL) - Gateway (Driver Requirements)
Open only to DBHDD employees
The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is seeking qualified candidates for Health Aide (WL) at Southwestern State Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia
The Gateway Dual Diagnosis Unit is a 20-bed intensive treatment program serving individuals with dual diagnoses, i.e., coexistng psychiatric and substance abuse disorders. Individuals are screened and referred to the program by the community mental health/substance abuse services. Length of stay in the program is from 45 to 60 days based on individually assessed clinical need for services. Gateway, operated by Southwestern State Hospital, is a community initiative under community dual diagnosis standards and provides 24-hour/7days per week services.

· High School Diploma or GED
· Must Obtain Safety Care Certification by completion of new employee orientation (this certification must be maintained as a term and condition of employment)
Travel Required - Must have:
· Valid Georgia driver's license
· Acceptable MVR record and
· Meet the requirements for operating a state-owned vehicle: must be 21 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years driving experience.
· Experience working with Mental Health or Substance Abuse
· Computer/Technology skills
· Excellent communication and customer service skills
· Clerical skills (filing, copying, putting charts together)

This position is a pay grade 7 on the statewide salary plan.
This position is located at Southwestern State Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia.
