Nurse Mentor

Job Description

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Nurse Mentor at East Central Regional Hospital, located in Augusta, GA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct weekly audits in nursing, physician assessments
  • Conduct quarterly MOCK Surveys to ensure facility wide readiness for external surveys (i.e. CRIPA auditors, Joint Commission, CMS, etc)
  • Perform follow-up on Corrective Action Plans associated with CRIPA related policies
  • Serve as a member of the Hospital Function Group, Infection Control and Performing Function Group providing vital information to the groups regarding Patient Care trends
  • Attend monthly Quality Management meetings to report findings for both campuses
  • Monitor the effects on the consumers (related to restraints, change in behavior, etc) based on Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) process
  • Create effective monitoring tool as needed 


Associate degree in a related field and five years experience with at least two years in a position directly related to the area of assignment


Bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of related experience


Master's degree in a related field and two years of related experience


Two years experience at the lower level or a position equivalent (RCP061)

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to those who, in addition to meeting the above qualifications, also possess the following:

  • Masters degree in health planning, health administration, public administration, business administration, finance or related field
