The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Health Services Tech 2 at Georgia Regional Hospital At Savannah (please visit www.garegionalsavannah.com for more information). Full-time position on:

Recovery Care Unit  -  1 position 7:00a-3:30p

Job Description:

 Provide basic patient care and work with patients/clients to develop daily living skills. Take vital signs and perform other related medical procedures under the direction of nursing staff. Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards: 1. Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision 2. Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas 3. May supervise support staff 4. Assists in administration of medications and treatments, takes vital signs, and/or draws blood or collects other bodily fluids, as directed by a physician or nurse 5. Bathes, grooms, shaves and dresses clients 6. Conducts activities for recreation and socialization 7. Ensures safety and security of clients 8. Feeds clients who are unable to feed themselves 9. Implements assigned parts of client individualized treatment and behavior management plans 10. Observes and documents patient data, behavior and activity 11. Prepares clients for treatment or examination 12. Provides client care by supplying and emptying bedpans, applying dressings and supervising exercise routines 13. Provides clients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed 14. Transports and/or accompanies clients to treatment units, using a wheelchair or stretcher

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED and One year of experience in a related field OR One year of experience at the lower level or position equivalent

 

Preferred Qualifications

Must complete the Safety Cares certification by completion of new employee orientation. High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver's license. Must have one year experience as a Health Service Tech or equivalent. Experience and/or education in health/mental health or related field is a plus.
