The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Health Services Tech (HST) Driver at Georgia Regional Hospital At Savannah (please visit www.garegionalsavannah.com for more information about the hospital.) One full-time position is on the 7:00am-3:30pm shift.
Provide basic patient care and work with patients/consumers to develop daily living skills May take vital signs Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards: 1. Answers consumers' call signals 2. Assists in administration of medications and treatments, takes vital signs, and/or draws blood or collects other bodily fluids, as directed by a physician or nurse 3. Bathes, grooms, shaves and dresses consumers 4. Conducts activities for recreation and socialization 5. Ensures safety and security of consumers 6. Feeds consumers who are unable to feed themselves 7. Observes and documents consumer data, behavior and activity 8. Prepares consumers for treatment or examination 9. Provides consumer care by supplying and emptying bedpans, applying dressings and supervising exercise routines 10. Provides consumers with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed 11. Provides subprofessional occupational and/or physical therapy services to physically and/or developmentally disabled consumers 12. Transports and/or accompanies clients to treatment units and appointments
High School Diploma or GED
Must obtain the Safety Cares certification by completion of new employee orientation. High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver's license from the state in which candidate resides. Experience and/or education in health/mental health or related field is a plus. Must have a clear MVR record and meet the requirements for operating a state-owned vehicle: must be 21 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years driving experience as per State Driver's Policy
